How-To Care Guide
Bullfrog Tadpoles
American Bullfrog tadpoles (Rane, catesbeiana) are native to North America and can be found as far north as Canada and as far south as Florida. They are much larger than tadpoles of other frog species and range in length from 1" - 3". They're dark green in color, matching that of their parents. They have an arrowhead shaped body with a dorsal fin that begins behind their body.
Bullfrog tadpoles mature much slower than tadpoles of other frog species. Tadpoles of other species may complete metamorphosis in as little as a few months, while it takes Bullfrog tadpoles 1-2 years to morph into baby froglets. While adult Bullfrogs are predatory and carnivorous and will eat almost anything they can fit into their mouths, Bullfrog tadpoles are herbivorous and tend to eat little more than algae and other plant life found in their habitat.
Your Bullfrog tadpoles will range in size from 1" to 3" and age from 1-2 years old. They're a perfect addition to a 5+ gallon aquarium. They require no special water parameters and will eat fish flakes, algae wafers, boiled lettuce, and decaying organic matter at the bottom of your aquarium.
Color: Dark green
Size: 1" - 3"
Locality: Found naturally in ponds, rivers and shallow waters
Difficulty: Beginner
Temperature: Bullfrog tadpoles are quite temperature tolerant and will do well in water temps ranging between 70-85 F
Behavior: Bullfrog tadpoles are peaceful and exhibit no aggression towards tank co-inhabitants including shrimp and guppy fry
Culturing: Easy to raise. They require no special water treatments. They can survive on left over fish food, algae and enjoy an occasional fresh vegetable like lettuce, squash or green beans (boiled)
.

How-To-Care Guide
Our tadpoles are double bagged and packaged in Long Life Breathing Bags
When your tadpoles begin growing legs it's time to provide an area in your tank they can emerge from the water onto dry (moist) land
Assimilate your tadpoles into your aquarium by floating the bag for 30 minutes and gradually adding your tank water to the tadpole bag
Bullfrog tadpoles do best at room temp (70-85 F)
The higher the water temp the faster they will morph into froglets
Bullfrog tadpoles can survive in low oxygen environments but will do much better if kept oxygenated
FOOD: Occasionally place a thin slice of boiled squash, zucchini, lettuce or green beans in aquarium as a special treat. Otherwise they will survive on left over fish food, and aquarium vegetation.
